Reject RFK Jr.’s vaccine rollback and protect children in our state
To: Gov. Hobbs
From: A verified voter in Tucson, AZ
January 16
I urge you to reject the recent changes to the federal childhood vaccine schedule ordered under Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and to maintain evidence-based vaccination standards in our state.
For more than 30 years, childhood vaccine recommendations were developed through a rigorous, transparent process involving independent experts, pediatricians, and public health officials. That process has now been bypassed. The federal government has reduced routinely recommended vaccines from seventeen to eleven without presenting credible evidence or conducting a proper scientific review.
Public health experts have warned that these changes will reduce immunization rates and increase the spread of preventable diseases. The United States is already seeing a resurgence of measles and whooping cough, and further erosion of vaccine standards will put children at unnecessary risk.
Our state has the authority and responsibility to protect public health. I urge you to continue following established, science-based vaccine guidelines and to publicly reject this reckless federal rollback. Children’s health should never be sacrificed to ideology or political experimentation.
Please act now to defend proven vaccine standards and keep children in our state safe.
