If you can listen to today's testimony from American civilians who have been brutalized by ICE operatives and not conclude that this organization is wildly out of control to the point that it must be dismantled because there is no way any potential worth it has outweighs the harm it is doing, then you should quite simply be ashamed of yourself. If you send me another letter trying to justify this brutality under some hypothetical banner of immigration control, shame on you. That is, quite plainly, not what this is about, and you know it. It's a pathetic veneer to allow extrajudicial, unconstitutional abuse of the populace. This is about sowing fear. This is about punishing anyone who disagrees with Donald Trump. This is about terrorizing anyone Stephen Miller sees as lesser than him. ICE is operating as a government sponsored terrorist agency. Are you proud of it, as you listen to those testimonies? Or have you even listened to them? Are you too ashamed to face what you have helped to enable? If you are not willing to speak out against this, loudly and firmly, and to take action to ensure the reign of terror ends, then you need to resign from your position, because you are unworthy of the public trust. What will you do when it's civilians in our district getting kidnapped? What will you do when kindergartners in our district are used as bait for their family members? What will you do when disabled people are dragged from their cars in our district?What will you do when it's civilians in your district being shot, by ICE agents who brag about how many holes they put in us? What will you do when those agents put us in our graves? Right now, what we have to assume is that you will call us domestic terrorists and glorify our abusers and our murderers. If you're a better person than that, show it. Either take action or at least remove yourself from a position of trust and responsibility, because you don't belong there.
