Condition US Military Aid to Israel on International Law Compliance

To: Sen. Warner, Sen. Kaine, Rep. Subramanyam

From: A constituent in Haymarket, VA

June 22

Cut US military assistance to Israel unless and until it demonstrates clear compliance with international law. The United States has both the legal authority and the moral obligation to enforce this condition — existing US law already prohibits sending weapons to forces credibly accused of human rights violations. Right now, that law is being ignored. American taxpayers should not be funding operations that violate international humanitarian law. Continuing unconditional aid makes the US complicit in those violations and undermines our credibility when we demand accountability from any other nation. This is not a complicated call — it is a matter of applying the same standards we hold everyone else to.
