I understand that Reps. Ro Khanna and Anna Paulina Luna have introduced a new bill (https://substack.com/redirect/7d6d5696-8854-42d4-b020-1532915182e6?j=eyJ1IjoiNm1seXYifQ.otOmJiKbuVjJchpYlNRHfEdUeScpGrrwie9zwfsSQuI) to prohibit candidates from using campaign funds to settle allegations of sexual misconduct. It’s called the No Campaign Funded Cover-Ups Act (https://substack.com/redirect/67fc56aa-1aed-4266-b3f8-c26fe84ed5fc?j=eyJ1IjoiNm1seXYifQ.otOmJiKbuVjJchpYlNRHfEdUeScpGrrwie9zwfsSQuI) and I’d like the representative to co-sponsor it. Money donated to support a political campaign shouldn’t become a personal legal defense fund for alleged sexual misconduct (or any criminal activity!).
