Oppose unqualified Kennedy for HHS Secretary over anti-vaccine stance

To: Sen. Tillis, Sen. Budd

From: A constituent in Matthews, NC

November 19

It is deeply concerning that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is being considered to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Kennedy lacks the necessary qualifications, experience, and scientific understanding to effectively oversee the nation's public health infrastructure and programs. Kennedy's well-documented anti-vaccine stance and promotion of misinformation linking vaccines to autism are antithetical to established scientific consensus and pose a serious threat to public health. His statement that "there's no vaccine that is safe and effective" directly contradicts overwhelming evidence from decades of clinical research and real-world data demonstrating the safety and efficacy of vaccines in protecting against deadly diseases. As the potential HHS Secretary, Kennedy's fringe views and distrust of medical authorities could erode public confidence in vaccination programs and scientific expertise within the agency. This undermines the core mission of HHS to advance the health and well-being of all Americans through evidence-based policies and programs. The nation deserves an HHS leader who respects scientific integrity, has a proven track record in public health management, and is committed to upholding the highest standards of medical ethics and patient safety. Appointing Kennedy, an individual with no formal health education or relevant experience, fails to meet this critical benchmark and jeopardizes the health security of the American people. I urge you to reject this deeply flawed nomination and instead support a qualified, science-based candidate for this crucial role.
