I urge you to oppose any increase in funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the upcoming federal budget. ICE has repeatedly demonstrated a pattern of human rights abuses, including separating families, detaining children in inhumane conditions, and engaging in racial profiling. Furthermore, their operations have been plagued by a lack of accountability and transparency. Instead of rewarding this unacceptable behavior with more resources, we must demand meaningful oversight and reform of this rogue agency. Prioritize protecting the rights and dignity of immigrants over bolstering an enforcement agency with a track record of cruelty and overreach. I implore you to reject any budgetary giveaways to ICE and instead work to curb their abusive practices.
