Just weeks ago, you publicly reassured the press that Senator Mitch McConnell was “doing just fine.” Now, when asked whether you still stand by those statements, you refuse to answer and walk away. If nothing has changed, answer the question. If something has changed, the public deserves honesty. Silence and evasiveness only undermine public trust. The American people have a right to know whether elected officials are capable of carrying out the duties of the offices they were chosen to hold. That isn’t partisan—it is fundamental accountability. Your silence extends beyond Senator McConnell. You have also failed to exercise meaningful congressional oversight over military action involving Iran. Congress—not the executive branch alone—has constitutional responsibilities when it comes to war. West Virginians deserve a senator willing to defend those constitutional checks and balances instead of looking the other way. And if there are legitimate concerns about the fitness of any executive official to discharge the duties of office, you should not treat the 25th Amendment as a political taboo. It exists for a reason. Your responsibility is to uphold the Constitution, not protect political convenience. West Virginians deserve courage, transparency, and ethical leadership—not evasive answers, political calculations, and silence.
