It is deeply concerning that the proposal to deport U.S. citizens for alleged crimes to foreign prisons is being floated, as it violates fundamental constitutional rights and principles. Forcibly sending Americans overseas for imprisonment without due process represents an egregious violation of citizenship protections and the rule of law. Such extrajudicial actions disregard basic tenets of justice and human rights. This policy idea must be rejected outright as it is patently unconstitutional and undermines the very foundations of American democracy. We cannot allow our core values of due process and equal protection under the law to be so callously discarded. I urge you to speak out forcefully against this alarming proposition which threatens to erode our nation's commitment to liberty and human rights.
