Demand Censure of Greene’s Violent Hate Fundraising

To: Sen. Kim, Rep. Sherrill, Sen. Booker

From: A verified voter in Boonton, NJ

July 8

I am writing to demand that you take immediate action to censure Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene for her escalating incitement of violence and bigotry. She is now openly fundraising by giving away a .50-caliber sniper rifle while ranting about “nasty America-last Democrats,” “open borders,” and “the trans agenda coming for your kids.” This is not normal political speech. It is a deliberate attempt to whip up hatred, fear, and threats of armed violence against political opponents and marginalized communities. Encouraging supporters to arm themselves with a weapon designed for battlefield use—while vilifying transgender Americans and smearing her colleagues as enemies to be destroyed—crosses every ethical and moral line. This is dangerous extremism masquerading as a campaign gimmick, and it poses a direct threat to public safety and democratic institutions. Every time this rhetoric goes unanswered, it grows more normalized. It emboldens the most radical elements of her audience, and it increases the risk of real-world violence. I expect your office to publicly condemn this conduct, support any resolution to censure Representative Greene, and make clear that there is no place in Congress for this brand of stochastic terrorism. Silence is complicity. The American people deserve leaders who will stand up against violent hate and defend our democracy from those who seek to tear it apart.
