As your constituent and as a parent, I’m writing to urge you to oppose any policies or regulatory decisions that would restrict access to COVID-19 vaccines in the United States.
Despite progress, COVID-19 remains a serious public health threat. Healthy people—including children—can and do experience severe illness, long COVID, and death. Long COVID alone has impacted millions of Americans, with long-term consequences for individuals, families, and the economy. Vaccination remains one of the most effective tools we have to prevent severe disease, reduce transmission, and protect our most vulnerable populations.
Restricting access—whether through high costs, reduced distribution, or supply barriers—would be a dangerous step backward. It would disproportionately harm children, the elderly, the immunocompromised, and low-income communities. Public health policy should be based on evidence, equity, and compassion—not short-term economics or industry pressure.
I urge you to do everything in your power to ensure COVID-19 vaccines remain widely available, affordable, and accessible to all Americans, including children. The health of our communities—and the long-term strength of our public health infrastructure—depends on it.
