Welcome to Congress, you are my new Representative and I wanted to introduce myself. Yes, this is a deeply red gerrymandered district but there are many of us who are agonizing over our democracy and our future under a second Trump administration. The contrast yesterday was stark, between VP Kamala Harris certifying the election results and the images and harrowing accounts of violence and assault at the Capitol four years ago. It will be up to you and your Republican colleagues to move us forward and bring our country together. You will be called to hold Donald Trump accountable when necessary. You'll need to put up road blocks when appropriate. Always remember your oath of office and your call to rise above partisan politics. I hope and pray you are up to the challenge and that integrity will be your guiding principle. Your constituents and America are counting on you.
