As a constituent, I urge you to strongly oppose any such measures and to advocate for the continued and robust funding of this crucial service. There are disproportionately high rates of suicidal ideation and attempts among LGBTQ young people. These vulnerable individuals often face unique challenges, including discrimination, lack of acceptance, and mental health stressors that can significantly impact their well-being. A dedicated hotline provides a lifeline of support, connecting them with trained counselors who understand their specific needs and can offer immediate crisis intervention and resources.
