Opposed to executive order Eradicating Anti Christian Bias

To: Sen. Warner, Sen. Kaine, Rep. Subramanyam

From: A constituent in Round Hill, VA

February 9

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the recently enacted executive order aimed at addressing "anti-Christian bias." This order establishes a task force to investigate and rectify policies deemed discriminatory towards Christians.1 While I understand the importance of religious freedom, this executive order raises several concerns: 1 Overreach: This order potentially allows the federal government to intervene in matters of local governance and private institutions, undermining the principle of separation of church and state.2 2 Disproportionate Focus: The order's narrow focus on anti-Christian bias neglects the reality of discrimination faced by other religious minorities in the United States. 3 Potential for Abuse: This order could be misused to justify policies that discriminate against marginalized groups under the guise of protecting religious freedom. I urge you to consider the following actions: 1 Oversight: Conduct thorough oversight of the task force's activities to ensure it does not overstep its mandate or infringe on the rights of other religious groups. 2 Legislation: Introduce legislation to clarify the scope of religious freedom protections and prevent the misuse of this order for discriminatory purposes. 3 Public Dialogue: Facilitate a public dialogue on the importance of religious pluralism and the need to combat discrimination against all faiths. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
