An Open Letter

To: Rep. Ciscomani

From: A constituent in Green Valley, AZ

September 16

I haven’t noticed any positive impact so far on your representing me in the government, but there is one issue we agree on. Water is life. All life requires water. Our water here in Green Valley is under enormous threat from both an enormous Canadian multi-, open-pit copper mine and a data center in Sahuarita that will drain our aquifer dry for commercial uses. Hudbay Mineral’s’ own data concerning planned water consumption demonstrate this fact. Both the state and federal government, WITH YOUR PERMISSION, have agreed that it is just fine for them to destroy the Santa Rita Mountains, the ground water/aquifer, and air quality in this spectacularly beautiful and abundant landscape that hosts a number of lovely, prosperous, and historical towns. Juan, please feel our pain and act to stop this. It is in your district and you have never said a word about it. Please save this beautiful, historical, wild land. Thank you!
