OPPOSE All Tax Increases, Income & SALES TAX

To: Sen. Burger, Rep. Dolan, Gov. Kehoe

From: A constituent in Scott City, MO

March 19

I am writing to urge you to OPPOSE HJR 173 and HJR 174. This 'tax swap' is a dangerous gamble with Missouri's fiscal future. Replacing the individual income tax with an expanded sales tax on n early all goods and services—including haircuts, auto repairs, and digital subscriptions—will result in a net tax increase for 60-80% of Missourians. and infrastructure. Furthermore, independent analyses suggest this plan could create a $5 billion hole in our state budget, leading to devastating cuts for our local schools Shifting the tax burden onto working families and seniors while creating a budget crisis is not the way to grow Missouri. Please vote NO on these resolutions.
