President Trump’s increasingly heated and unhinged rhetoric regarding Iran shows that he believes he has absolutely no check on his powers to act. Threatening to completely demolish them puts his claim to not be at war fully to rest. You must, must act, without delay. Abrogating your power to control when the US is at war and what is permissible within that context is completely unacceptable. This is truly a watershed moment, one that historians will hold up, assuming there are any left. Please return to work and act immediately to stop the insanity. Politics as usual Will. Not. Work. He is threatening war crimes and to ignore the Geneva convention. He is ripping up treaties and alienating our closest allies. And now he is threatening to drag the US into no-holds-barred conflict with people who will have no barriers left to restrain them. This does not make us safer, entirely the opposite. Regain your courage and please, ACT. I am begging you.
