Investigate Musk's breach of taxpayer privacy laws

To: Sen. Polistina, Assembly Member Swift, Gov. Murphy, Assembly Member Guardian

From: A constituent in Egg Harbor City, NJ

February 4, 2025

We urge the Attorney General to immediately open an investigation into the apparent violation of federal privacy laws by Elon Musk and DOGE in gaining unauthorized access to the Treasury Department's payment system. This system contains extremely sensitive personal and financial data on hundreds of millions of Americans that has been unlawfully exposed without proper procedures being followed. Legal action should be taken to revoke DOGE's access and hold those responsible accountable for this breach that undermines public trust in the protection of confidential records.
