I am writing regarding the looming deadline of the continuing resolution, and as your constituent I implore you to ensure any budget passed fully funds essential programs like but not limited to social security, SNAP, Medicaid, Medicare, the VA, and USAID.
As a federal employee, one who has worked for years diligently, with a team of many other such dedicated and exemplary employees, we have fought to do the right thing by our oaths and the people we serve, and, until this administration, felt that we had a government which worked for and helped us. After all, that is our role as public servants; to help the people who call this country home. We have spent years, if not decades, ensuring we provide our services effectively and within the bounds of the law. And as repayment for our years of dedication, an unelected bureaucrat in the form of Elon Musk and his ill-inforned team come in and blindly slash budgets, personnel, and programs with no understanding of the work being done, while yet mysteriously not divesting of interests with the federal government from which he directly profits. That is expressly unethical, criminal conduct.
This administration and its maliciously incompetent enablers in Congress and the judiciary, however, make it clear that the administration doesn't want this to be a government of, by, and for the people, but rather have us all be indentured servants to the wealthy elite.
While I, many of my friends, and my family will all be negatively affected by a possible shutdown, the effects thereof will be FAR less detrimental than would otherwise occur if the sadistic, atrocious, borderline criminal Republican budget or continuing resolutions get signed.
Fight for the American people who have lost their livelihoods, who have lost their access to health care benefits, and many of whom who have lost knowing where their next meal will come from.
Republicans certainly won't fight for American ideals. As noted on a farm in my decidedly Republican leaning district, "Trump values are not American values."
Stand up for us, and stop the wholesale destruction of our republic at the hands who profit by making it not work for the people it's supposed to serve.
