Deleting articles of the constitution from the government’s website is an unbelievable misstep. According to the Library of Congress’ X account, it was a coding error that caused the mistake. As a web technology professional, I cannot think of a way specific paragraphs of text could be mistakenly deleted from a website like this, especially since references to only these specific articles were removed in many locations.
An investigation must be launched and the American people deserve an explanation as to why and how this happened. If necessary, individuals must be pursued for criminal conduct if this were in fact an attempt at swaying public understanding of our rights. These are critical articles pertaining to habeas corpus, war declaration, and taxation, among others. This deserves our immediate and unrelenting attention.
