Why Is Our Vice President Dismissing Decades of Military Sacrifice? I am asking you to publicly condemn Vice President JD Vance’s claim that America has “won almost none” of its wars in the past 42 years, and to demand real accountability for the turmoil now gripping the Pentagon. On September 3, 2026, during a White House briefing and a CBS Face the Nation interview, Vance told reporters, “America has fought a lot of wars since I’ve been alive. 42 years. And we have won almost none of them until Donald J. Trump became the president.” He made the remark while defending Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, just two days after Army Secretary Dan Driscoll resigned over Hegseth’s handling of Army leadership. That resignation wasn’t isolated: reporting shows bipartisan outrage in Congress over Hegseth removing at least two dozen top officers without explanation, including Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George in April and Gen. David Hodne, who led Army Training and Doctrine Command.
