As a constituent in Wisconsin, I am deeply concerned about ICE’s recent escalation of raids and surveillance in Minneapolis and urge you to take immediate action to defend immigrant communities and reject ICE’s oppressive presence in Wisconsin.
Stephen Miller’s baseless claims about Eau Claire’s immigrants overrunning the city are lies. His rhetoric and actions foster fear, undermining trust between law enforcement and communities.
Here’s what I ask of you:
1) Condemn ICE’s violence in Minneapolis and support a transparent investigation into alleged raids.
2) Resist ICE’s encroachment into Wisconsin through budget cuts, sanctuary policies, and rejecting federal funds for detention.
3) Prioritize community safety by replacing ICE’s harmful enforcement with programs addressing crime’s root causes—poverty, mental health, and lack of housing.
Your leadership matters. Immigrants are our neighbors, coworkers, and neighbors—not threats. Eradicating systemic discrimination and reinvesting in communities, not incarceration, is how we achieve true safety.
Stop ICE’s expansion. Wisconsin deserves courageous representatives who protect all families.
