Immediate stop of Elon Musk and his associates from accessing classified
To: Sen. Kaine, Rep. Scott, Sen. Warner

The events surrounding Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team accessing classified information at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) are deeply concerning. It appears that DOGE members attempted to gain unauthorized access to sensitive intelligence reports and other classified materials, despite lacking the proper security clearances. This violation forced USAID security officials John Vorhees and Brian McGill to initially deny access, as they were legally obligated to do so to protect classified information. Such reckless disregard for established security protocols puts our nation at significant risk. Classified information is designated as such for valid reasons relating to national security. Allowing uncleared individuals to access these materials could compromise intelligence sources, methods, and operations vital to protecting American interests and personnel around the world. Stringent procedures govern access to classified data for a reason - to safeguard sensitive information. Attempts to circumvent these rules by any entity or individual, including DOGE, are unacceptable breaches that undermine national security. Firm measures must be taken to prevent any future unauthorized access attempts and hold those responsible accountable for violating clearance requirements. The integrity of our classified information management systems is paramount and cannot be compromised.
