I am urging you to VETO SB 63. SB 63 is a punitive measure intended to suppress home-rule rights in Ohio's municipalities and counties to experiment with ranked-choice voting. The Ohio Constitution includes a provision upholding home-rule. It is bad enough that the legislature passed this unconstitutional bill, you should not add to the lawlessness in the name of political power by signing it. The anti-democratic, unconstitutional behavior of the Ohio legislature - from its refusal to produce fair electoral maps to voting to punish cities whose citizens choose to vote for rank choice voting - must be contained. VETO SB 63.
