I am a resident of Orcas Island and a customer of Eastsound Water. I’m writing to express concern about the proposed reorganization o f the Washington State Office of Drinking Water, which would eliminate the regional management structure. Our community relies heavily on the expertise and responsiveness of regional staff who understand the unique complexities of our island water systems. nal knowledge, and fast, informed support—particularly during The current regional model provides critical continuity, institutio emergencies and regulatory issues. Removing this structure would jeopardize the safety, health, and infrastructure of communities like ours. Please advocate for the preservation of a fully staffed, regionally organized Office of Drinking Water. Our public health and access to clean, safe drinking water depend on it.
