I want to take a moment to personally thank you for your support in advocating for Governor Stein’s funding requests to help Western North Carolina recover from Hurricane Helene. Your commitment to our communities and schools makes a real difference, and I’m grateful to stand alongside you in this effort. As you know, our school system alone has already lost almost $5 million in revenue due to the storm’s impact. Local governments across the mountains continue to struggle with the financial burden of lost or spent resources. That’s why Governor Stein’s $100 million request for local government reimbursement and his $34 million appeal for summer school funding are so critical. These funds will help stabilize our education system, ensure students don’t fall further behind, and provide much-needed relief to our communities. Your continued support is essential in making this happen. Please keep the momentum going by reaching out to legislators, spreading the word, and encouraging others to get involved. Together, we can make sure Western North Carolina gets the help it desperately needs. Thank you again for standing up for our schools and communities. Let’s keep pushing forward!
