Support S.401/H.R. 987 - The Fair Access to Banking Act

To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Moody, Rep. Frankel

From: A constituent in Wellington, FL

July 24

Recently, various online gaming stores have been forced to remove titles from their storefront under threat from payment providers (in particular Visa and Mastercard, as well as PayPal). These games do not include real people. They are fictional, cartoon games and lawful to possess and create and buy. And yet because of a couple people from another country who want to police our content, many people are no longer able to make a living. That is why I ask that you support S.401/H.R. 987, the Fair Access to Banking Act. This would give penalties to banks if they refuse to do business with a person who complies with the law - I would argue that the wording should also be adjusted so that restrictions are increased on credit card companies as well. There are only a handful of them, yet they control a majority of our daily economy. They need to be regulated. So once again, I ask that you support S.401/H.R. 987. If we truly want a free economy, we need to ensure that no small group of companies have power over the whole thing.
