Vote No on Todd Blanche for Attorney General

To: Sen. Moody, Sen. Scott

From: A verified voter in Jacksonville, FL

August 4

Vote no on Todd Blanche. The last-minute deal he tweeted out at 11 PM Sunday night is not a court order, not a signed agreement, and not binding on anyone. It's two memos on DOJ letterhead — one unsigned — that leave the Trump family's tax immunity deal fully intact. The judge in Florida already found that original settlement was tantamount to a fraud on the court. Nothing Blanche wrote changes that. The $1.776 billion anti-weaponization fund may be nominally rescinded, but the immunity deal — shielding Trump and his family from criminal investigation and unpaid taxes — remains in place. Blanche himself admitted to Senator Coons that a sitting president suing his own government for $10 billion and directing the settlement is unprecedented. That's not a credential. That's a confession. This is a man running interference for Trump, not upholding the Constitution. A Justice Department that has made repeated misrepresentations in court — to the point where federal judges openly question whether its lawyers can be trusted — is not a reliable partner for a "binding" promise. Don't hand Blanche a lifetime of leverage over the rule of law based on a Sunday night tweet. Vote no.
