With H.R.10186, Nancy Mace wants to make it so that nobody, cis or trans, would be safe in a bathroom on federal property. As Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has put it: “The idea that Nancy Mace wants little girls and women to drop trou… in front of who, an investigator? If a woman doesn’t look woman enough to a Republican, they want to be able to inspect your genitals to use a bathroom? It’s disgusting.” These sorts of "bathroom bills" are an affront to the safety of all Americans, and would open up the way for self-appointed genitalia inspectors to harass anyone they see fit. Doing so would make using the bathroom on any federal property, including airports, other transit stations, and museums, dangerous for any American who doesn't fit strictly as "male" or "female" as decided arbitrarily by whoever happens to be there. For the safety of all Americans, especially women and transgender people, you need to say no to H.R.10186 and any other "bathroom bills" like it!
