I am writing to express my absolute outrage at your support for Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill.” There is nothing beautiful about a bill that guts essential services, enriches the ultra-wealthy, and pushes this country further toward authoritarianism. You are not serving the people of North Carolina—you’re serving a corrupt, vindictive demagogue and the donors who fund his ascent. This bill slashes funding for public education, healthcare, veterans’ services, and working families while handing out obscene tax cuts to billionaires. It prioritizes power and cruelty over democracy and decency. I’m a veteran, a working single parent, and one of your constituents. This bill actively makes life harder for families like mine. It undercuts the services that keep people afloat—childcare, housing assistance, disability support—and weaponizes the federal government against its own citizens. That’s not conservative. That’s not governance. That’s tyranny. You are backing a man who tried to overturn an election, whose policies are driven by spite, and who is openly dismantling institutions meant to protect us. And you are enabling him. With this vote, you’ve made it clear that loyalty to Trump outweighs your obligation to represent North Carolinians in good faith. This bill will harm your constituents and destroy your credibility. Your political careers may not survive it. We see what you’re doing. We’re organizing. We’re voting. And we will remember. If you think people are just going to accept this quietly, you are gravely mistaken. You will not be forgiven for this betrayal.
