Vote No on Iran War Funding and Demand Congressional Authorization

Vote no on the $200 billion Iran war supplemental and demand that the Administration seek proper Congressional authorization before continuing this conflict. The President launched strikes on February 28 without Congressional approval, violating the constitutional requirement that Congress authorize war. Iran did not pose an immediate threat to the United States, making this an illegal war of choice.
This war is already devastating North Carolinians. Gas prices have jumped 80 cents per gallon in just 21 days because Iran has blocked the Strait of Hormuz. Families are choosing between insulin and buying gas. The $12 billion already spent could have provided health care for 1.3 million Americans. Now the Pentagon wants $200 billion more while our national debt exceeds $39 trillion.
The Administration has provided no clear goals, timeline, or exit strategy. The justification changes day to day. Defense Secretary Hegseth says the $200 billion figure "could move," which suggests this is just the beginning. Senator Schumer is right that requesting this much money means Trump expects a very long war, which is the last thing Americans want.
Use Congress's power of the purse to stop this reckless, poorly planned conflict that decreases our security and drains resources from the needs of your constituents.
