I am a constituent in Ashtabula Ohio and I am horrified by House Bill 754, which seeks to mandate the registration of fetal deaths and the filing of "certificates of life" following the detection of a fetal heartbeat.
This is a massive breach of privacy for citizens undergoing a medical emotional trauma. This bill attempts to score political points on the suffering of women by placing an emotional and administrative burden on families during a deeply personal and difficult time.
We, the voters, made our voices clear when we passed the reproductive rights amendment in 2023. HB 754 is a direct attempt to undermine that amendment by legally redefining personhood.
I urge you to stand up for the privacy and reproductive rights of your constituents by voting "No" on HB 754. Please represent the will of the people and keep the government out of our personal medical records.
