First, I understand that the House passed the rescission package yesterday that defunds PBS and some foreign aid. Shame on them. I expect you to vote no. I care about Public Broadcasting - I grew up watching Sesame Street and listening to All Things Considered. Public broadcasting made me thing and feel and grow. It is a vital service. These funds were already allocated and should be paid out. If we can afford 140M for an unnecessary military invasion of Los Angeles we can keep funding PBS. Second, I am appalled by the assault on Senator Padilla yesterday. What the heck is happening in our country? This is not a dictatorship! We don’t assault Senators for asking a question. Congress needs to condemn these actions and demand a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the role of Secretary Noem and the security personnel involved. Thanks.
