ICE’s current practices have caused widespread fear and harm in communities across the country, including incidents in which U.S. citizens and lawful residents have been detained, questioned, or subjected to intimidation. These actions erode public trust, destabilize families, and raise serious concerns about civil liberties and due process.
As someone who believes in accountability, public safety, and the protection of constitutional rights, I find it deeply troubling that federal funds continue to support an agency whose actions have repeatedly demonstrated a pattern of overreach and harm. The psychological toll on communities, particularly immigrant families and communities of color, cannot be ignored.
I urge you to take these concerns seriously and to consider the real human impact of continued funding decisions related to ICE. At the end of this month, vote against continuing to fund ICE. This rogue agency should not be given our tax dollars to continue to terrorize us.
