An Open Letter

To: Sen. Schiff

From: A constituent in Carlsbad, CA

March 14, 2025

Dear Senator Schiff, I am writing to strongly urge you to oppose the GOP bill set to be voted on tomorrow, 3/14. As you may know, this bill poses significant risks to the well-being of American families, workers, and the future of our democracy. If this bill is allowed to pass, it would undermine critical safeguards for health care, education, and our environment, while advancing a deeply partisan agenda that disproportionately favors the wealthy and corporations. I ask you to take a stand against this measure and defend the values that prioritize people over politics. I am particularly concerned about the potential damage this bill could inflict on essential programs that support vulnerable communities. As we continue to navigate the challenges of a pandemic recovery and rising economic inequality, it is crucial that our policies reflect the needs of all Americans, not just the interests of a select few. In a time when cooperation and bipartisanship are more necessary than ever, voting for this bill would send the wrong message to your constituents. It is imperative that we protect and expand access to vital resources rather than roll them back. Please do not follow in the footsteps of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer by allowing this harmful bill to pass. I urge you to vote against it, showing that you are committed to standing up for your state and the values we hold dear. The American people are counting on you to do what is right, not what is politically expedient. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter, and I trust you will make the right choice tomorrow.
