Your oath is to the Constitution. Yet while President Donald Trump continues to violate its limits, Congress remains dangerously passive. This administration has launched military action toward Iran without proper congressional authorization, openly disregarding the Constitution’s clear assignment of war-making authority to Congress. At the same time, the executive branch has attempted to override the Fourteenth Amendment by decree, punish political opponents through federal power, and expand executive authority far beyond anything the framers intended. But the abuse does not stop there. Under this administration, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has become the blunt instrument of an increasingly lawless federal agenda. Detention camps are expanding, families are held in degrading conditions, and federal agents operate with alarming opacity and minimal accountability. Communities are being destabilized while enormous public resources are diverted into a detention apparatus that increasingly resembles a parallel system of punishment outside meaningful oversight. Instead of correcting this growing constitutional crisis at home, the President now escalates conflict with Iran. This is governance by chaos. A president who cannot manage lawful conduct within his own administration has no authority to drag the nation toward another war. Congress has both the power and the obligation to stop this. Invoke the War Powers Resolution. Halt unauthorized military action against Iran immediately. Launch serious oversight into the conduct, expansion, and abuses of ICE detention and enforcement practices. Reassert the authority that the Constitution explicitly places in your hands. If Congress fails to act now, you will not merely be neglecting your duty—you will be surrendering the constitutional balance that protects the republic itself.
