Memorial Day is a time to honor those who have served and lost their lives in military service while protecting our country. However, Trump has chosen to use petty, divisive language when "honoring" our troops, seemingly forgetting that Democrats have served side by side with Republicans, Indepent, and apolitical service men and women throughout our great history. President Donald Trump has branded Democrats as "Dumocrats" in his Memorial Day message. Writing on Truth Social, Trump said: "Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year. God Bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I love you all! President DONALD J. TRUMP" In a follow-up post, he wrote: "The Dumocrats have BAD POLICY, AND BAD CANDIDATES. Other than that, they are doing quite well! President DJT" This is disgusting and beneath the dignity of the office he holds. It is also dangerously demoralizing to Democrats who currently serve and are deployed in the missions Trump sanctions. It shows them that he has no appreciation for their service and sacrifice.
