Dear Attorney General Ferguson, Governor Ferguson, and Members of the Washington State Legislature: California’s Delete Request and Opt-Out Platform (DROP)—live since January 1, 2026 at privacy.ca.gov/drop—empowers residents with one verified request to delete personal data from over 500 brokers. Data like emails, phones, ad IDs, and inferences gets hashed securely and deleted within 90 days—no cost, state-run. Washington leads with the My Health My Data Act on health privacy, but lacks a DROP-style tool for all brokers amid pushes like HB 1671. Enact a similar centralized platform: verify via state systems, fund by broker fees, force compliance. Please prioritize 2027 legislation to protect Washingtonians from data sales. Thank you.
