Hi John, I just saw an article in CanaryMedia.com noting the fast rise of solar energy in California (it may surpass gas-powered energy production in 2025), which is A Very Good Thing. However, AB 942 would punish solar rooftop early adopters. “AB 942 would undermine the value of solar on the nearly 2 million homes that installed panels years ago.” When Gov Brown signed the net-metering program into law in 2013, he said ‘that preexisting net-metered customers should be “protected under those rules for the expected life of their systems.”’ Do not let AB942 break legacy contracts and expectations about how solar metering should work. Oppose AB942 as long as it punishes early adopters and homeowners with solar panels.
