Demand Accountability for Kuwait Deaths and Support Hegseth Investigation
To: Sen. Curtis, Rep. Maloy, Sen. Lee
From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT
April 30
Six soldiers are dead because Defense Secretary Hegseth failed to protect them from a known threat. The March 1st drone strike in Kuwait killed members of the 103rd Sustainment Command at a tactical operations center during the opening hours of war with Iran. This wasn't an unpredictable attack. Iranian one-way attack drones are a widely known risk, yet our troops had inadequate force protection.
Hegseth has refused accountability and misled the media about what happened. With over 50,000 troops in the region as this administration escalates the war, we cannot afford a Defense Secretary who doesn't understand the threats our service members face. Congressman Ryan and 12 other Democratic veterans are demanding a full investigation by May 22nd, including all physical evidence, operational data, and firsthand accounts from injured service members.
I want you to support this investigation and push for real consequences. These families deserve honest answers about why their loved ones died from a preventable failure. If Hegseth cannot protect our troops or take responsibility when he fails, he should not lead the Defense Department. Hold him accountable.
