Investigate Elon Musk

To: Sen. Scott, Rep. Salazar, Sen. Moody

From: A constituent in Miami, FL

April 7

Elon Musk is a convenient ally to the GOP now, having spent some $200+ million to elect the president. But he’s buying votes and dismantling government programs to enrich himself and clear pathways for more riches. When will he have enough? And what cost must be borne by the American people to make the world’s richest man richer? Congress must investigate his access to confidential information and his cozy relationship with Communist China. Congress must prevent him from dismantling critical services of the federal government in pursuit of his pecuniary interests. And most of all, stop him from using his influence to unfairly compete as a federal contractor. Federal government needs constant reform and there will always be cuts worth evaluating. Vice President Gore and a bipartisan commission did this with incredible results in the 90s. Why can’t we have that sort of cooperation today? Why can’t Congress serve its Article I role? It’s like you are all just bystanders waiting to give a sound bite for fundraising. We did not elect one billionaire to aid and abet another. Serve the American people. Show Musk his money can’t elevate his interests above the law. Take charge of the Article I duties in reviewing spending. And if Congress fails, just wait until the Democrats get back in power. This will be an ugly back and forth Banana Republic fire sale. But not if Congress steps up. Put country first.
