Subject:Subject: Legislation to Prevent the Deputization of Non-Elected Officials for Data Collection Dear Representative, I am writing to express my deep concern about the growing trend of non-elected government officials being authorized to collect private data on American citizens without following established legal procedures. This practice undermines constitutional protections, bypasses due process, and erodes public trust in our government. I urge you to introduce or support legislation that explicitly prohibits this practice and reinforces the need for judicial oversight and legal transparency in all government data collection efforts. The Fourth Amendment guarantees Americans the right to be secure against unreasonable searches and seizures. By allowing unelected entities to collect and share private data without due process, the government is circumventing constitutional safeguards and infringing upon individual liberties. Such practices not only compromise privacy but also set a dangerous precedent where agencies can act without direct accountability to the people or their elected representatives. I urge Congress to take decisive action by: 1. **Mandating Judicial Oversight**: Any government effort to collect private data must follow proper legal channels, requiring judicial authorization and oversight. 2. **Prohibiting the Deputization of Private Entities and Non-Elected Officials**: Government agencies should not be permitted to outsource data collection to private corporations or non-elected officials in order to bypass constitutional protections. 3. **Ensuring Transparency and Accountability**: Government agencies must publicly disclose their data collection methods and be subject to independent audits to prevent overreach. The American people deserve a government that upholds the rule of law and respects their constitutional rights. I urge you to take immediate action to close these legal loopholes and restore public confidence in our institutions. Thank you for your time and for your service to our nation. I look forward to your response.   Sincerely,  A Concerned American Citizen
