The latest text of the “big, beautiful bill” would increase the statutory limit on the national debt by $5 trillion (about 14%). Yet you state in a letter to me dated June 29, 2025: “As a fiscal conservative, I believe our national deficit is one of the largest concerns our nation is currently facing, and I would not vote in favor of a bill that recklessly spends.” So why are you going to vote yes on this bill? Or have you changed your position?
