Reject Hegseth Nomination Due to Troubling Allegations of Misconduct
To: Sen. Sullivan, Sen. Murkowski
From: A verified voter in Anchorage, AK
January 24
The concerning allegations of misconduct against Pete Hegseth raise serious doubts about his fitness to lead the Department of Defense. The Senate should reject his nomination as Secretary of Defense given the multiple credible accusations of sexual assault, financial improprieties, and potential domestic abuse against him. His former sister-in-law's sworn affidavit alleging that Hegseth's ex-wife once hid in a closet fearing for her safety is particularly disturbing. The leader of the military must hold unimpeachable character and integrity. Hegseth's troubled history of alleged misdeeds undermines the credibility and moral authority needed for this vital role. The Senate has an obligation to thoroughly vet nominees and should act to block this controversial pick who could tarnish the reputation of the armed forces.
