We must support HB 9396! We need transparency in insurance policies that limit healthCARE for people in favor of profit. insurers should publicly report and submit to HHS detailed data on every prior auth decision they make! And they definitely should have to disclose how many decisions were made “solely through” AI, machine-learning, or other automated decision-support technology, and describe what tech they used. As a doctor of physical therapy, The processes they have in place with actual staff is absymal, i can only imagine the depravity that is programmed into AI systems. For example, every single evaluation I have to fight Virginia Aetna Medicaid to approve physical therapy for a quadriplegic child for cerebral palsy. Seriously? They even denied baclofen, which would relax his muscles and that had to be appealed too!
