Stop the march towards fascism.

To: Sen. Booker, Sen. Kim, Rep. Kean

March 9

After a recent post by NJ50501 about the March 28th No Kings protest in Newton, Republican legislators Dawn Fantasia, Michael Inganamort, Sen. Parker Space published a formal letter and sent it to NJEA leadership since the Sussex County Education Association is the sponsor of the event condemning the use of “concentration camp” to describe ICE detention centers. The SCEA chose to educate, as educators do, and published a response with relevant citations and evidence that our representatives did not bother to review before their hasty condemnation. As the SCEA’s response says: “We ask that you consider what it means when the world's foremost Holocaust scholars, the people most qualified to protect the integrity of that history, affirm that this language is appropriate. And we ask that, as elected officials with the power to act, you direct your concern not at the educators naming what is happening, but at the conditions making that name necessary.” Stop the March towards fascism. Stop the concentration camps now!
