NO to KOSA, Kids Acts, and other Data-Stealing Bills

To: Sen. Warner, Sen. Kaine, Rep. Scott

From: A constituent in Norfolk, VA

June 29

Reminder: ABSOLUTELY NOT to these so-called “Kid’s Acts” and “Child Safety Laws”, which actually do NOTHING to keep children safe. They are, in fact, not even well-disguised attempts to steal American Citizen’s personal data. Those who would give up their freedom for a feeling of safety deserve neither. Provisions in the kids act violate multiple constitutional Amendments, mostly by treating all citizens as criminals BEFORE any charges or trials, including those who have done nothing wrong. On top of that, the companies who claim they can “safely” process things like ID data have been KNOWN to have massive info security breaches, putting all of the US citizens data at risk of being taken by bad actors. Parents should be taking PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY to parent their children, using AVAILABLE TOOLS, like child safety locks, screen time apps, child-only accounts, and parental controls. There is NO reason for the government to be censoring the internet. We are the USA, not North Korea. It would do well for Congress to remember who’s citizens they represent. Again, your constituents say ABSOLUTELY NOT.
