An Open Letter

To: Sen. Tillis, Rep. Knott, Sen. Budd

From: A constituent in Wake Forest, NC

February 6

I am deeply concerned about the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) access to sensitive federal systems, including payment infrastructure, Medicare data, and classified agency records. This unprecedented access puts taxpayer data, national security, and government integrity at risk. I urge you to take immediate action: 1. Revoke Unauthorized Access – Immediately terminate DOGE’s access to all federal systems, including Treasury, Medicare, OPM, and USAID databases. Conduct a full security review to ensure no unauthorized copies of data were made, no administrative privileges were granted, and no lingering access remains after removal. 2. Conduct a Full Audit – Require an independent GAO review to identify unauthorized changes, breaches, and misuse. 3. Strengthen Data Security – Verify that Zero Trust protections are fully enforced across all federal systems. 4. Legislate Oversight – Pass legislation requiring Congressional approval for any future third-party access to sensitive government systems, ensuring proper security protocols, agency oversight, and public transparency before access is granted. 5. Increase Transparency – Mandate regular reporting on who has access to sensitive government systems, the scope of their access, and the purpose of their involvement. Protecting federal systems and taxpayer data is not a partisan issue—it’s a national security imperative. I urge you to act swiftly to restore public trust and safeguard our government’s critical infrastructure. Thank you for your leadership, and I look forward to your response.
