OPPOSE Proposed Congressional Redistricting Efforts
To: Sen. Blue, Rep. Jones
From: A constituent in Raleigh, NC
October 20, 2025
As your constituent from Raleigh, I write to strongly oppose the current mid-decade efforts to redraw North Carolina’s congressional map.
This action, aimed solely at securing additional partisan advantage, is an unacceptable abuse of power and a distraction from the General Assembly’s core duties.
My concerns are twofold:
- Wrong Priorities: The Legislature is prioritizing a partisan power grab over passing a state budget, funding Medicaid, and addressing other critical state needs.
- Harm to Democracy: Redrawing lines mid-decade to guarantee electoral outcomes undermines fair representation, erodes public trust, and targets the voice of millions of voters.
I urge you to vote NO on the proposed map and reject any future redistricting attempts that are not based on non-partisan, public interest principles.
I expect you to represent the people, not a political party's thirst for control.
