I am responding to your reply to my recent email over my outrage that Secretary of Defense Hegseth used Signal to plan a military operation. In it you wrote, “I firmly believe that the reported event was a mistake.” A mistake, Senator Budd, is something that happens ONCE and without premeditation. I invite you to read the Atlantic article because the messages exchanged clearly indicate this was not the first time! Your willingness to simply right this off, that you firmly believe it to be a mistake, clearly shows that you have made zero effort at looking into the facts. Worse, maybe you support this sort of breach of our National security! That is why your constituents are demanding an investigation into the matter.
