I am urging you to support the abolition or fundamental dismantling of ICE. What began as a promise to target “violent criminals” has repeatedly expanded far beyond that claim. Enforcement shifted from violent offenders, to anyone undocumented (a civil violation, not a felony), to racial profiling based on appearance or accent, and now to deadly force against people who are not posing a threat — including American citizens.
ICE operations increasingly resemble unaccountable paramilitary actions: agents operating masked, without visible identification, conducting raids in communities that did not request them, and using lethal force with little transparency or oversight. This erosion of accountability undermines civil liberties, public safety, and trust in government.
No federal agency should be allowed to operate above the law or outside meaningful oversight. I urge you to support legislation that dismantles ICE or radically reforms its authority, use-of-force standards, and accountability mechanisms.
